Owlboy Languages, Steam Achievements, Trading Cards, and Cloud Saves
Covers Owlboy's supported languages with full audio, plus its Steam features: achievements, trading cards, cloud saves, leaderboards, and family sharing.

Owlboy: Languages and Steam Features at a Glance

Owlboy's Steam store page lists thirteen supported languages — English, Japanese, French, Italian, German, Spanish (Spain), Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Norwegian — and every one of them is marked with an asterisk, which the page defines as indicating full audio support. The same page lists eight Steam features: Single-player, Steam Achievements, Full controller support, Steam Trading Cards, Steam Cloud, Steam Leaderboards, Remote Play on TV, and Family Sharing.
The Language List in Full
According to the store page, the supported languages are:
- English
- Japanese
- French
- Italian
- German
- Spanish (Spain)
- Korean
- Polish
- Portuguese (Brazil)
- Russian
- Simplified Chinese
- Traditional Chinese
- Norwegian
All thirteen carry the asterisk that the store page uses to denote full audio support, so the listing does not distinguish between text-only and voiced languages — every entry is flagged the same way. The store page does not break the list down further by interface, subtitles, or dubbing.
The Steam Features, Item by Item
The feature list on the store page covers both play and platform integration:
- Single-player — the only play mode listed.
- Steam Achievements — achievements are part of the Steam version's feature set.
- Full controller support — the store page marks controller support as complete.
- Steam Trading Cards — collectible cards are listed as a feature.
- Steam Cloud — cloud saving is listed.
- Steam Leaderboards — leaderboard support is listed.
- Remote Play on TV — listed among the Steam features.
- Family Sharing — listed among the Steam features.
The store page does not describe how any of these are implemented, how many achievements exist, or what the leaderboards track.
Single-Player Only
The store page lists Single-player as the sole play mode. No co-op, multiplayer, or online play mode appears in the feature list, so on the available documentation Owlboy is a single-player game. The store description supports this framing: it presents Otus's journey as a solo story-driven adventure in which the player carries Otus's friends as gunners rather than playing as them cooperatively.
Achievements Away From Steam
Steam Achievements are confirmed on the store page, but achievements on other storefronts are not officially documented in the material available here. On the GOG.com forums, a player asked in November 2016 whether the GOG version of Owlboy would include achievements, noting that a relative had unlocked one in the Steam version, according to the thread. A reply visible in that thread begins "Achievements are planned for the G…" before the excerpt cuts off, so the thread as available does not show a confirmed final outcome. Treat GOG achievement support as unconfirmed rather than official.
Store Details and Later Updates
For reference, the store page lists D-Pad Studio as both developer and publisher, a release date of November 1, 2016, a US price of $1.99, and Windows, Mac, and Linux as platforms. The listed minimum requirements include Windows 7/8/10/Vista, a dual-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, a DirectX 10-capable graphics card with Pixelshader 3.0, DirectX 9.0c, and 600 MB of storage.
The feature set has also changed over time through official announcements. A Steam announcement dated October 1, 2026 previewed an anniversary update with auto-aim, a Super Dash, and toggles for screenshake and flash effects; the follow-up announcement dated November 1, 2026 confirmed the update was out, adding that auto-aim, screenshake, flash effects, and "Drop Gunner On Dodge" can each be toggled in the Options Menu, that major cutscenes can be skipped, and that Z, X, and C keys can be bound to Throw, Shoot, and Spin Attack. Earlier, a patch announcement dated May 25, 2022 described a fix for a crash that could occur when backtracking and prevented players from returning to the final dungeon. None of these announcements alter the language list or the Steam feature list above.
